When we hear the words kindness and community spirit, front of mind is Griffith’s Bunnings Warehouse Australia team and their amazing manager Peter.
On a chance meeting with Peter, Kurrajong Supported Living Griffith’s team leader Jodie had the opportunity to talk to him about her role within Kurrajong and the plans Kurrajong had for renovating a second centre in Griffith for higher needs clients.
During this meeting, Jodie asked Peter if Bunnings would donate a few lengths of timber as we had planned to open up a wall.
Peter then asked if he could have a look at the centre. A day was set for a walkthrough and Kurrajong’s vision for the building was discussed.
Peter offered Bunning’s help, not only with a few lengths of timber, but for all the material we needed to complete the opening of walls.
It didn’t stop there. Donation of tiles and tiling items, kitchen benchtops and most importantly, the team helped Kurrajong with their valuable time to prepare and paint the whole interior of the centre along with the front of the building.
On nearing completion of the renovation Peter then offered to landscape the gardens.
Peter and the Bunnings team worked hard over two months to transform our Middleton Ave facility into the beautiful centre it is today.
We are forever grateful to Peter and the Bunnings Griffith team’s kindness and generosity.
It’s people and organisations like you that make what we do possible.
