Rotary Shine Awards 2023
Kurrajong staff, families, employers and participants rejoiced in celebration during the 2023 Rotary Shine awards. The wonderful event, held at the Wagga Council Chambers, made a comeback this year after being postpone due to the Covid-19 Pandemic. Founded to celebrate the accomplishments made by employees with a disability and employers who employ people with a disability, there were smiles, cheering, laughter and even a few tears as the nominees stood up and accepted their certificate’s. Kurrajong are not only proud of all the hard work, dedication and accomplishments made by our participants but are overwhelmed with gratitude to be surrounded by such a welcoming, inclusive and compassionate community.
Special thanks to Alan Lean, the Wagga Rotary club and the volunteers who organised the event, Member for Wagga: Dr Joe McGirr who spoke about the ambitious goals and challenges surrounding disability in the employment sector, and Mayor Dallas Tout who congratulated each participant and handed out the certificates. Kurrajong would also like to thank all the families, participants and employers who got involved in this wonderful cause.
Kurrajong strives to create open, accessible and inclusive communities for all people, and hope next year we can have an even bigger pool of employers who share in the wonderful and fulfilling decision to employ people with a disability.
