Meet Tori, one of our lovely Deniliquin Support Workers. We asked Tori if she could provide us with a written account of what a day looks like for her as a Support Worker and why she enjoys her job; here is what she said.
“My day starts at Deniliquin Bakery, where we all have morning tea. This is where the clients I am supporting and I plan their day; after this, we go to appointments and check out some local businesses. We then like to head back to Napier Street for a group discussion and where we complete skill-building worksheets.”
“At lunch, we like to eat in the Warning Gardens as a group, enjoying the scenery and many ducks! After lunch, we do something fun; the clients choose what activity they would like to do. Sometimes it’s the river walk, playing Wii Sports, checking out the Ute Muster Museum or something completely random. This program allows our day to be flexible and hands-on, keeping it exciting and fun!”
