We understand that our families, clients, staff, volunteers, and indeed the community may be feeling anxious and concerned in relation to the ongoing issues and uncertainty with COVID -19.
As such at Wednesday night’s Board meeting the Board unanimously resolved to make public Kurrajong’s stance on vaccinations and to assess the level of risk associated with our people who are not vaccinated.
After a long discussion the Board decided that while, at this stage, we do not have a mandate to force vaccinations, we will need to carefully consider the risk that COVID-19 poses to our clients, families, staff, supported employees and volunteers and the role that we have to protect those that we care for and support.
The Board recognises the current public health order for disability workers in LGA’s of concern to be vaccinated and that this order is likely to apply to the state of NSW by the end of the year.
Therefore, to assess the level of risk for Kurrajong we will soon be seeking information from staff, supported employees and volunteers as to their current vaccination status and/or intentions if they wish to volunteer this information.
